Redefining Arts Education

“I have spent the last 15 years teaching the Business of Acting and Directing across Asia, Latin America, and the MENA region, equipping students and professionals with strategies to navigate the industry. Artist’s Strategy takes these tools even further, offering a more comprehensive and specifically tailored approach to building a sustainable career and life in the arts in the U.S.

What sets Artist’s Strategy apart is their holistic understanding that an artist’s career is not just a business—it’s a deeply personal and evolving journey. By integrating financial, aesthetic, and professional development, they provide artists with the tools to reclaim control over a life that can often feel dictated by external forces. Their work empowers students with both a clear roadmap and the confidence to take charge of their careers with intention and agency.

Their impact at UNCSA has been invaluable, and I highly recommend their approach to any institution or individual looking to bridge the gap between artistic training and long-term professional success.”

At the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (one of the top acting schools in the world), Artist’s Strategy leads The Business of Acting - a first-of-its-kind curriculum bridging the gap between conservatory training and sustainable creative careers.

Developed over a decade of hands-on work with artists worldwide, this year-long course (2025-2026) equips students with the entrepreneurial mindset and business literacy essential for thriving in today’s creative economy. Rather than teaching actors to “break in,” we empower them to build independent, adaptable careers.

What Makes It Different?

Our framework redefines professional preparation through five core principles:

  • Entrepreneurial Identity – artists as CEOs of their creative enterprises

  • Multi-Disciplinary Mastery – beyond specialization, toward creative agility

  • Audience-First Development – cultivating communities instead of waiting for gatekeepers

  • Systems Thinking – applying strategy and structure to artistic practice

  • Financial Literacy & Realism – replacing the “starving artist” myth with sustainable models

Real-World Results

Our 2024-2025 UNCSA pilot produced measurable transformation. Graduating actors were noted by industry observers for having “good business heads on their shoulders” - a direct reflection of their strategic, self-directed career vision. Students reported the work as “immediately applicable,” wishing they had learned these tools sooner.
